A fact of modern life is that many of us are busy — and that busyness affects everything: our families, careers, relationships, churches, and even how we think about God.
Urban Univerciti is a startup project that encourages thoughtful reflection on practical Christianity for the 21st century - including how Christian doctrine remains deeply relevant to everyday life.
No matter how occupied we are, Urban Univerciti invites us to ask: How should the Church respond to the real problems and questions of modern life?
Urban Univerciti is made up of two parts: UrbanUniverciti:thinking and UrbanUniverciti:living.
UrbanUniverciti:living is about rolling up our sleeves and living out faith in real, practical ways. It’s about helping the Church meet everyday needs - together.
Whether it’s running a workshop on job applications or creating spaces where people feel heard and supported, UU:living is all about turning love into action, one project at a time.
Urban Univerciti:thinking is where faith meets deep questions. It's about helping the Church make sense of what it believes - and why it still matters today.
We want to wrestle honestly with doctrine, culture, and everyday life. That means engaging the tough stuff: justice, identity, relationships, power, purpose - and doing it all with open hearts and curious minds.
We believe theology isn’t just for academics - it’s for all of us, wherever we are.
Urban Univerciti is a growing team of everyday people who care deeply about Jesus and the world around us. Among us are counsellors, teachers, youth leaders, people managers — and even a theology student or two. But titles don’t really matter. What matters is this:
We love Jesus.
We love people.
And we’re serious about making faith count in real life.
